Educational Workshops for Every Growing Life

Educational Workshops for Every Growing Life

Dance, singing, photography, sports, theater, and art workshops: this is how the Association “Casa della Comunità Speranza” aims to promote multiculturalism and social cohesion among children and teenagers in Mazara del Vallo through their project “Educational Workshops.” And we can help the Association “Casa della Comunità Speranza” through community crowdfunding. Upon reaching the goal through donations, the Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani will co-finance the project with a contribution equal to 70%.

Who is the Association “Casa della Comunità Speranza”?

The Association “Casa della Comunità Speranza” has been active in the territory of Mazara del Vallo, in the province of Trapani, for ten years and is the most important reference point for over 200 children and adolescents who are second and third-generation immigrants. Through literacy programs, study support, and artistic, sports, and creative educational workshops, it helps minors integrate into the community by building trust within the group. It contributes to the growth of active citizens by promoting actions that focus on “thinking” and “doing” together.

The Supported Project

At “Casa della Comunità Speranza,” they firmly believe that by giving space to the new generations, we can ALL have a better future. They will do this through dance, singing, photography, sports, theater, and art. Together with children and teenagers, the Association is committed to building a better world so that everyone can have a beautiful and positive outlook on life and the future, allowing room for dreams, desires, and needs.

Their aspiration is to accompany and take care of minors at risk of cultural and social exclusion from various backgrounds, religions, and cultures. “Casa della Comunità Speranza” is a multi-ethnic space where everyone feels like family.

The project “Educational Workshops” has been selected in the “Inclusive Restart” call for proposals from the Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani. The Foundation believed in the impact of the initiative and will finance a part of the total project value with a donation contribution equal to 70%. For the remaining part, and therefore, for this project to be realized, the Association “Casa della Comunità Speranza” needs your support.

What Will Be Achieved with Your Help

Through the fundraising campaign promoted by the Association “Casa della Comunità Speranza” and the Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani on For Funding, they aim to raise 14,000 Euros to create 6 different educational workshops for children and teenagers (from 5 to 17 years old): Street Dance, Profession Reporter, In One Voice (singing workshop), Creativi.lab (sewing and creative recycling), Little Actors Grow, Mazara Casbah (soccer).

With the funds raised, all the necessary materials for the workshops will be purchased: knee pads and rubber mats for street dance; digital camera, microphone, and computer for the journalism workshop; amplification system, musical instruments, and microphones for the singing workshop; fabrics, glue, colors, brushes, and stationery material for Creativi.lab and the theater workshop; soccer balls, gloves, and bibs for soccer.

In addition, expenses for involving 6 experts, 6 educators, and 12 volunteers in the workshops will be supported. Each of them, with their own specializations, will accompany the children and teenagers throughout the process.

Except for “Profession Reporter,” which will start remotely, all the workshops will be held in person starting from the next spring.
