The Social Cooperative Fa Bene Sicilia has won UniCredit’s call “Road to Social Change” for the Sicily Region with the project “Ristoranti che fanno bene” (that means “Restaurants that are good”. The awards ceremony took place on December 13th.
“Road to Social Change” is the project organized by UniCredit, within its Banking Academy – ESG Italy, in collaboration with AICCON, Politecnico di Milano – Tiresia, POLIMI Graduate School of Management, Fondazione Italiana Accenture and TechSoup, which brings together training and support for social enterprises.
The “Road to Social Change” Call awarded those projects that best value collaborations between the profit and non-profit in integral sustainability processes: among the 7 projects awarded throughout Italy there is also “Ristoranti che fanno bene” with the which the Social Cooperative Fa Bene Sicilia extends its activity to the B2B – Business to Business sector.
Fa Bene Sicilia was born in 2021 as a social cooperative engaged in online fair trade, an instrumental activity to create work placements for individuals in situation of fragility.
Currently, Fa Bene Sicilia operates in the B2C – Business to Consumers trade through its e-commerce www.fabenesicilia.org: an online shop in which it sells excellent Sicilian food and wine products and natural cosmetics. The excellence of products results from the accurate selection and evaluation process of producers and suppliers, which also takes into consideration the ethical, legal, environmental and social sustainability aspects.
The challenge of sustainability starts from the companies: thus, with the project “Ristoranti che fanno bene”, Fa Bene Sicilia decides to also address the Ho.Re.Ca. (hotels, restaurants, bars), starting new collaborations with the world of catering. This means for the Social Cooperative new commercial and also social objectives.
In fact, Fa Bene Sicilia’s mission is to promote a good and fair food economy at all levels: producers, distributors, restaurateurs, consumers.
