The Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani and the Municipality of Petrosino have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at promoting joint local development actions through the co-planning approach. The memorandum of understanding, signed on 21 July, is an example of how third sector organisations and the public administration can work together for the common good.
The agreement aims to promote joint actions in the following areas of intervention: community development, sustainability, inclusion and cohesion, digital transition, and ecological transition.
Mayor Giacomo Anastasi and Councillor Caterina Marino expressed their enthusiasm for the agreement: “We strongly wanted to sign an agreement with the Foundation to jointly promote the socio-economic, cultural and environmental development of our territory, encouraging the growth of human capital and stimulating a policy of subsidiarity capable of providing concrete and comprehensive answers to the needs of our community“.
The importance of an agreement of this type for the Municipality of Petrosino and the Community Foundation is also part of the possibility of seizing the opportunities offered by the PNRR and the European programming for Euro-Mediterranean cooperation by using the co-programming and co-designing tools provided by the Third Sector Code.
This alliance emphasises the importance of developing a socio-economic planning network per territory capable of enhancing the skills and peculiarities of the third sector for the sustainable development of our communities.
