Futurama: call for research activities at the University of Turin

The call for applications for no. 1 scholarship for research activities entitled “Experimentation of co-desing paths for civic and digital education” has been published. The call has been published within the framework of the Futurama project by the partner University of Turin, Department of Informatics.

“Futurama – New models for digital and creative education” is a project selected by Con i Bambini within the framework of the Fund for the fight against child educational poverty and co-funded by Fondazione CDP.

Futurama aims to develop a new educational model capable of promoting the development of basic skills in STEAM disciplines in children in the 14-17 age group in the provinces of Agrigento and Trapani. It does so through a composite and multidisciplinary intervention aimed at students and teachers based on the experimentation of integrated educational and didactic models, capable at the same time of effectively innovating the learning of key technical competences in the STEAM sphere and the development of soft skills that can promote active citizenship and facilitate entry into the world of work.

The activities covered by the Research Fellowship consist of:

01

Analysis, study and research for the realisation of educational workshops (high school) related to civic applications of new technologies (social networks, crowdmapping and blockchain). Main topics: civic participation, local knowledge, local economy.

02

Design and development of co-desing paths of the “FirstLife – civic social network” and “Commonshood – civic blockchain wallet” platforms for their experimentation in the territories involved in the Futurama project (Agrigento and Trapani provinces), in collaboration with schools and local social actors.

03

Monitoring and evaluating the educational paths and experimentation of the FirstLife and Commonshood platforms, in coordination with the contact persons of the experimentation of the two platforms.

The activities will take place in the two schools partner of the project: Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore Statale “G.B. Odierna” in Palma di Montechiaro (AG) and Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore Statale “Sciascia e Bufalino” in Erice (TP).
