Futurama: Beehive’s STEAM Job Orientation Labs

Futurama: Beehive’s STEAM Job Orientation Labs

Regarding the Futurama project, in February, the first edition of two job orientation paths, managed by Beehive, kicked off.

Futurama is a project selected by Con i Bambini within the framework of the Fund to Combat Child Educational Poverty and co-financed by Fondazione Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.

Beehive’s Support

The Social Cooperative Beehive, a reference point in Trapani for the promotion of South Working, is implementing two paths within the Futurama project that represent a strategic link between the world of education and the workforce. It provides students with concrete tools for a more aware and prepared entry into the world of work. The first path aims to prepare students to respond proactively and creatively to contemporary challenges. It includes workshops for the development of transversal skills such as teamwork, effective communication, adaptability, and problem-solving, addressing topics such as professional identity and corporate behavior. In parallel with these workshops, students are engaged in job shadowing activities: a direct immersion in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) professions where they observe professionals at work, learning the dynamics and skills required in various sectors. The second path includes role model workshops, STEAM orientation, and job orientation through support in CV development and preparation for individual job interviews. A well-structured CV is essential for a successful application, and preparation for real interview situations helps students improve presentation and communication techniques, offering them concrete feedback to tackle these crucial steps in job hunting with more confidence. At the same time, it is important for students to have a comprehensive view of the study or professional training paths necessary to pursue STEAM professions.

Work-oriented with Futurama

Futurama is more than a training project, as it facilitates collaboration between educational institutions and the world of work, thus also facilitating students’ transition from one reality to another. The project is experimenting with an interactive, innovative educational model in line with the needs of the current job market: training increasingly focused on the development of practical and transversal skills and also promoting processes that help students become aware of their potential and aspirations.

The Futurama project has been selected by Con i Bambini within the framework of the Fund to Combat Child Educational Poverty and co-financed by Fondazione Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. The Fund stems from an agreement between banking foundations represented by Acri, the National Third Sector Forum, and the Government. It supports interventions aimed at removing economic, social, and cultural obstacles that prevent minors from fully enjoying educational processes. To implement the programs of the Fund, Con i Bambini was founded in June 2016, a non-profit social enterprise wholly owned by the CON IL SUD Foundation. www.conibambini.org
