Microcredit
To concretely affect the employability of young people through support for those who have already set up a business and for those who want to set one up, the Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani collaborates with the MECC – Microcredit for the Civil and Communion economy, of which it is a member.

The MECC is a subject of ethical finance for microcredit activity, structured in the form of a cooperative business. It was established pursuant to Article 111 of the Consolidated Law on Banking and is the result of the relationship between the most important Italian and European civil and solidarity economy networks.
The MECC promotes the civil economy and integrated local development policies by supporting socially responsible companies, especially youth startups, through microcredit and training.

The MECC organizes free training courses and mentoring designed to transform business ideas into potential beneficiaries in economically sustainable and environmentally, socially and culturally responsible projects. Those who successfully complete the course obtain funding for their project through the provision of microcredit.
