Goal of the project
Our objective is to foster the empowerment and active engagement of young leaders as “resources” for social change and sustainable development in their local communities and in the European society.
Who is it for?
The project is addressed to two main target groups:
- Youth workers aged between 26 to 35 years old who work with young people facing socio-economic challenges and at risk of social exclusion and educative poverty.
- Young people aged between 16 and 25 who face socio-economic challenges and are at risk of social exclusion and educative poverty.
Activities
The project promotes 5 main actions aimed at combating youth educational poverty, while at the same time promoting processes of active participation and social responsibility among young people and youth workers:
- Mapping of community-based socio-economic vulnerabilities and environmental challenges affecting young people in the framework of the Covid-19 recovery process in the target local communities.
- Developed, tested and validated an innovative model “The Community Youth Incubator” based of non-formal learning and designed to promote youth empowerment & active citizenship leading to sustainable and inclusive community development.
- Implementation of n.1 transnational Training course on “Social generativity, theory of change and project management” and n.1 transnational Workshop to exchange community learning experiences and project ideas between disadvantaged young people and youth workers involved in the Community Youth Incubators in all local communities involved.
- N.20 youth-led community projects developed, implemented and evaluated by young leaders in the frame of the Community Youth Incubator programme in all local communities involved.
- Developed open educational resources (learning platform, toolkit and recommendations) to promote replication and transferability of the project outcomes and results to a wider audience of youth workers, young leaders, community stakeholders and policy makers in Europe.
Impact
20 Youth workers will be involved in the coordination of the community youth incubators at local level and will participate in a transnational training course
20 young people will develop their project proposals approved and will take part in a transnational seminar in Greece, for the exchange of good practices and peer learning
200 Media channels and outlets will disseminate the project’s activities and impact
More than 150 local actors will be involved in the dissemination events
