NutriWellB
Nutrition and WellBeing Fact Checking for HE

Goal of the project

Our goal is to combat nutritional information and negative stereotypes that influence people’s health.
The project aims to contribute to the digital landscape through an integrated and innovative platform that counteracts hoaxes and misleading advertisements about products and health and, through action-oriented approaches, promotes digital literacy among young people and teachers in higher education.

Who is it for?

The project addresses students between the ages of 18 and 30 who interact with social media and risk being confronted with incorrect food information on a daily basis.

Activities

The project promotes four main actions aimed at combating Fake News about nutrition and false diets that reinforce stereotypes about women, which negatively affect this sector of the population and generate problems such as eating disorders and health complications:

  1. Developing a methodological proposal for e-books and the design of an information platform and the implementation of online learning materials leading to the formation of a pilot course on cybersecurity, digital marketing strategies, fact-checking and critical thinking.
  2. Development of a training curriculum and design of an awareness-raising strategy and learning materials. The focus is on the development of materials hosted on the Moodle platform to support Action 3.
  3. Implementation of pilot courses and activities with groups of students and other young people to validate the appropriateness of the materials and training in real application. Focus on the number of students trained and measure their satisfaction and refine future courses after the end of the project.
  4. Develop a guide for higher education supported by a network of experts, including materials, resources and tools for awareness-raising campaigns and for promoting healthy attitudes towards reality and the use of media and digital tools.
