Up2You
Upgrading university pathways to promote bottom-up sustainable and inclusive development (project n. 2023-1-ES01-KA220-HED-000160874)

Goal of the project

The project aims to promote cooperation between civil society organisations and higher education in order to strengthen the role and effectiveness of both sectors in promoting sustainable and inclusive community development.

Who is it for?

The project, implemented simultaneously in Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Turkey, North Macedonia and France, is addressed to

  •  University lecturers
  •  Professionals and young workers in the Third Sector
  •  University students

Activities

The project aims to develop the cooperation of the quadruple helix in each community involved through:

  1. Training: thanks to the mapping of the Third Sector organisations’ needs in terms of skills and professionalism, the partners will co-develop thematic and multidisciplinary courses integrated into existing university courses. By developing teaching materials and practical tools and methodologies for the design and development of bottom-up initiatives, the project intends to provide students and professionals with the necessary skills to promote community development.
  2. Setup of Living Communities Labs: In order to promote long-term trans-sectoral and multidisciplinary co-operation dedicated to the promotion of sustainable and inclusive local development, “living laboratories”, local hubs dedicated to the involvement of local stakeholders, the experimentation of new practices and the integration of the competences of all the actors involved (quadruple helix) will be developed in each target territory.
  3. Co-design and development of a “Community Balance Scorecard” model: thanks to the exchange of know-how between the actors of each community and professionals from various sectors, a “CBS”, an interactive digital tool dedicated to monitoring the progress of local development, will be developed and tested. This tool will make it possible to collect and analyse data on the local context in order to have a clear view of the level of local development achieved through multiple integrated indicators and will promote the development of ad hoc strategies based on the key areas of local development.

By developing innovative educational formats and cooperation tools, the UP2YOU project aims to provide students and professionals with the necessary skills to collaborate with CSOs and other local stakeholders, thus promoting active citizenship, a sense of community (both local and European), social cohesion and innovation, helping to build more sustainable and resilient communities.

15 CSO (Civil Society Organisations) professionals trained in each country
