STIV project selected as a case study in the Horizon Europe project FARCLIMATE

On 30 September 2025, the FARCLIMATE Training for Case Studies was held at the Centro de Congressos de Andorra la Vella, an EU event on climate innovation in agriculture within the FARCLIMATE – Fostering Adoption of Resilient Climate Innovations in Agriculture project, funded by the Horizon Europe programme.

The STIV project — Leveraging artificial intelligence to manage a Sustainable Transition In Viticulture — had previously been selected as a case study within FARCLIMATE for its contribution to sustainable innovation in the agricultural sector and for integrating digital solutions and climate-resilience strategies. As a selected project, STIV took part in the Andorra training alongside other case studies from several European countries.

A European exchange on innovation in climate-resilient agriculture

The training, organised by ENoLL, LAUREA University of Applied Sciences, CERTH, and the University of Vigo (UVIGO), brought together experts, researchers, and Horizon project representatives to share tools and methodologies supporting innovation in sustainable agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.FARCLIMATE’s three thematic areas — Forestry, Fisheries, and Agriculture — addressed their respective objectives:

  • *Forestry: promote Closer-to-Nature forest management by encouraging native species (and site-adapted non-native species), fostering natural regeneration, and enhancing structural and landscape heterogeneity.*
  • *Fisheries: create climate-resilient brigades in the fishing sector, promoting environmental awareness and capacity to act in marine contexts.*
  • *Agriculture: develop innovations that help farming communities understand climate-related risks, identify emerging market opportunities that reflect community needs, and design strategies integrated across the value chain.*

Throughout the day, participants joined interactive sessions on value mapping, value proposition, SMART goals, and SWOT analysis, practising the assessment of impacts and sustainability strategies.STIV’s participation made it possible to present experiences and results in territorial and digital innovation, contributing to the European debate on climate resilience and sustainable transition practices.

Next steps

Among the upcoming steps, in addition to sharing the results of the cross-case comparative analysis, is the creation of the FARCLIMATE Living Community Lab:a collaborative, open space dedicated to experimentation, co-design, and the exchange of good practices among local communities, researchers, farmers, and enterprises, with the goal of accelerating the adoption of climate-resilient innovations across Europe.

STIV’s participation in the FARCLIMATE Training represents an important recognition at the European level and a step forward in building networks of cooperation and climate innovation in key production sectors.

About the project

The STIV project (2024-1-FR01-KA220-VET-000245913) has been selected and co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme and the Agence Erasmus+ France / Éducation et Formation, under Key Action 2 – Cooperation Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training.
