Gamey

Gamified financial education for young people

Gamey

Territory

Italy, Slovenia, Poland, Bulgaria, Sweden, Greece

Target

Young people aged 14–29 and youth workers / educators

Programme

Erasmus+ KA2 – Cooperation Partnerships in Youth

Project objective

Gamey's goal is to promote financial literacy among young people through an interactive approach based on gamified methodologies. The project aims to make complex concepts of personal finance accessible and understandable, transforming them into engaging gaming and learning experiences.

Target audience

Gamey targets in particular young people and education professionals who work with them:

  • Young people aged 14 to 29, especially from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, interested in strengthening their financial skills and with limited access to structured financial education programmes.
  • Youth workers, educators, trainers and teachers who wish to integrate interactive tools and approaches into their educational paths, spreading financial education in an innovative way.

Activities

1. State of the art analysis of financial education

The project launches an analysis phase to understand the landscape of financial education in the six partner countries (Italy, Slovenia, Poland, Bulgaria, Sweden and Greece). Through case studies, document research and literature reviews, existing programmes, gaps and good practices are examined.

The results feed into the European GAMEY Analysis, a document offering a detailed view of the strengths and critical issues of financial education in different contexts. This data will then be used in a Design Thinking Workshop in Slovenia to co-design an innovative educational framework based on gamification and interactive learning.

2. Creation of a training programme on financial education

Starting from the initial analysis, the project develops the GAMEY Educational Program, a path consisting of 10 modules on key topics such as personal finance management, financial planning, saving, investing, taxation and understanding economic mechanisms.

In parallel, the GAMEY Tools Catalogue is being created, a collection of digital resources – apps, games, videos and online tools – designed to facilitate learning in a dynamic way. All material will be accessible via the GAMEY E-learning Platform, which will offer modules, forums and interactive content for young people and practitioners.

3. Financial Leaders Training

A central part of Gamey is the direct training of young people. The project involves at least 60 participants (10 per partner country), aged between 14 and 29, with particular attention to those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Before the official launch, materials are tested through a Pilot Test in Poland, involving 10 young people and 12 experts from the partner countries to assess the effectiveness and usability of the resources. Subsequently, a workshop in Bulgaria deepens and validates the training programme and platform, refining their functions and content based on the feedback collected.

4. Creation of a network for financial education

Gamey also aims to build a European network for financial education, fostering stable cooperation between partners and local stakeholders. This network becomes a shared space for exchanging methodologies, tools and innovative practices.

Dissemination events are planned in all countries involved to present results and engage local communities, schools, educational bodies and policymakers. The path concludes with a final conference in Poland, a moment of synthesis and relaunch of future perspectives, with the aim of ensuring continuity and scalability of the solutions developed.

Impact

60 young people aged 14 to 29 (10 per partner country) involved in structured gamified financial education paths.

12 experts (2 per country) in the educational field – educators, trainers, teachers, youth workers – engaged in co-design, testing and dissemination of the tools.

Creation of an ecosystem of digital resources and replicable methodologies, capable of strengthening the financial skills of young people and educating communities at European level.
